The Mt. Clinton Rd. is gated during the winter which makes for no traffic. The road has been plowed in previous winters to allow emergency vehicles to access the Cog Railroad if need be. There is usually still a few inches of hard packed snow left on the road though which makes for excellent winter running. Just be careful though if there hasn't been much snowfall, because the road turns to glare ice pretty quickly.

Directions: Take Rt. 302 to Crawford Notch. Take a right onto Mt. Clinton Rd. and park in the lot on left.
