The Caps Ridge Trail offers incredible views of the northern Presidentials and Crawford Notch. The trail is fairly steep in spots, but reaches tree line fairly early, due to the 3000' start at the top of Jefferson Notch Rd. You get to enjoy the views all the way to the ridge between Jefferson and Clay. From there it's a short scramble to the summit of Jefferson. Directions: From Rt. 302 in Crawford Notch take Mt. Clinton Rd. all the way to the intersection of the Cog Base Rd. and Jefferson Notch Rd. Go straight on Jefferson Notch Rd. to the height of the land. There is a parking lot and trailhead at the top. |
