Sawyer River Trail up to 15 miles 3 2 2

The Sawyer River Trail is in the middle of the White Mountain National Forest off of Rte. 302 in Hart's Location. It's best to drive all the way to the end of Sawyer River Rd. and park there. If you park at the lower parking lot you'll have a lot of uphill running to do before you get to the trail. The River Trail is a combo of gravel fire road and old railroad bed. Yes, an old railroad bed. there's a lot of history in this part of the forest. Click here for more info. It climbs a little on the fire road portion but is mostly flat once you hit the railroad bed. The railroad ties have been removed and the trail is pretty nice for being in the middle of the forest. It's another out and back run but really nice terrain. You can run up to 15 miles total on this trail.
